What are subdomains?

In DNS hierarchy, a domain that is a part of a larger domain name is called as subdomain or child domain. DNS hierarchy comprises root-level domain at the top, followed by top-level domains, then second-level domains and finally subdomains. For example, in ‘blog.znetlive.com’ domain name, "blog" is a subdomain of the larger second-level domain "znetlive.com."
