How to set up ChatterEmail?

If you have not loaded ChatterEmail on your Treo, do the following in order to load the software on your Treo for a free 30 day trial.

1. Go to your Treo’s built in browser.

2. Type get.chatteremail.com in the URL section.

3. Accept the Palm installer application into applications.

4. Select Save and Open and do not change the location of the ChatterEmail download.

5. Select Run.

6. Ignore the Free IMAP account offer.

7. Tap under “Choose the account type...” in the drop-down menu and select Generic IMAP Account or Generic POP3 Account.

8. In the Account Definition window, enter the following information:

 Name — Enter a name for the mailbox. This should be 10 or fewer characters
• IMAP/POP3 Server — Choose one of the following:
 POP3 Server — Enter the following POP server name: pop.emailsrvr.com
• IMAP Server — Enter the following IMAP server name: imap.emailsrvr.com
• Login Name — Enter your full email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com), using all lowercase letters.
 Password — Enter the password for your email account.

9. If you are using an IMAP server, enter the following folder name in the Complete Server Folder Name box: INBOX

10. Tap the SMTP tab.

11. Enter the following information:

• Server — Enter the outgoing server name and its alternate port: smtp.emailsrvr.com:587
• Login Name — Enter your full email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com), using all lowercase letters.
 Password — Enter the password for your email account.

12. Check the PLAN box.

13. Tap the OK button.
 

Setting up a mail account if you already have chatter email

1. Tap the Menu button to activate the main menu.

2. Select New Account from the box menu.

3. Follow steps 7 - 13 from above.

Assigning SSL Secure Server settings

After setting up your mail account, you can follow the steps below to use the secure (SSL) server. The SSL protocol allows you to send and receive secure email messages.

1. Tap the Menu button to activate the main menu.

2. Select Edit Mailbox.

3. Tap the Define tab.

4. In the POP3 Server or IMAP Server box, enter the secure server name: secure.emailsrvr.com.

5. Tap the Deliver tab.

6. Check the Use SSL box.

7. Tap the SMTP tab.

8. In the Server box, enter the secure server name: secure.emailsrvr.com.

9. Check the SSL box.

10. Tap the OK button.
